Tsé Kooh Outfitters

San Juan River Trips

San Juan River Trips Overview

Tsé Kooh Outfitters offers three different types of San Juan River adventures. They are the Sand Island to Mexican Hat stretch covering 27 river miles — a three-day, 2-night float. Our second option is a five-day, four-night San Juan River adventure from Mexican Hat to Clay Hills, a distance of 58 river miles. Our third river trip is a complete San Juan River adventure. Eight days and seven nights, from Sand Island to Clay Hills, covering 84 river miles of premier southwest boating.

The river has a fascinating way of drawing people together. It’s the perfect environment for family and friends. In addition to specially chartered whitewater trips, we offer kayak support excursions. Under our expert supervision, those seeking the ultimate adventure will be rewarded by the challenge of the river.  Or combine new knowledge with pleasure. Guest instructors on our training and nature seminars cover such diverse interests as geology, photography, archeology, and natural history. Sound interesting? Contact us for details about any of these trips or to plan a custom trip of your own.

Music Trip
$2,100.00 per guest

These two…there’s a lot to be said about these two! I’ll start with Rosie, A sweet Churro Lamb that was born in Tucson several years ago and found her way back to Navajo. How exactly that happened is something I’ll treasure forever. Kathleen Williamson, Kat Willie! Wow. I nervously called one day looking for permission to use some old photos our “Goddess Of The Glen,” Katie Lee, had taken pre Glen Canyon Dam. An ‘out of the blue’ phone call kicked off a friendship decades in the making. Cosmic in fact! Folks, it’s with great pleasure Tsé Kooh Outfitters presents, Kat Willie on the San Juan River! Join us for Folk, Irish, Groovester, Rock, Soul, Jazz, Blues, Americana and songs this “Muddy River” has heard before! With eight days and seven nights, there will be plenty of time to enjoy this special trip. We launch from Sand Island Boat Ramp on May 20th and take out at Clay Hills on May 27th 2022.

5-Day river trip from Mexican Hat to Clay Hills
Adults - $1166, Under 15 - $916

This is our favorite stretch of the San Juan. Its famous gooseneck turns and powerful rapids keep you hanging onto your seat. Approaching a pristine side canyon, we discover refreshing pools, perfect for an afternoon plunge. Take this time to relax and listen to the solitude, broken only by the melodious call of a canyon wren. Later, a day hike reveals a secluded spring with miniature orchids adorning the canyon walls. A grand finale of a canyon awaits us on our last day. Polished limestone pools and sculptured sandstone extend to the river’s edge, inviting your imagination to identify its many shapes. Oar, paddle, and self-propelled kayaks are also available during this 58 mile stretch of the San Juan.
