San Juan River Trips Overview

Tsé Kooh Outfitters offers three different types of San Juan River adventures. They are the Sand Island to Mexican Hat stretch covering 27 river miles — a three-day, 2-night float. Our second option is a five-day, four-night San Juan River adventure from Mexican Hat to Clay Hills, a distance of 58 river miles. Our third river trip is a complete San Juan River adventure. Eight days and seven nights, from Sand Island to Clay Hills, covering 84 river miles of premier southwest boating.

The river has a fascinating way of drawing people together. It’s the perfect environment for family and friends. In addition to specially chartered whitewater trips, we offer kayak support excursions. Under our expert supervision, those seeking the ultimate adventure will be rewarded by the challenge of the river. Or combine new knowledge with pleasure. Guest instructors on our training and nature seminars cover such diverse interests as geology, photography, archeology, and natural history. Sound interesting? Contact us for details about any of these trips or to plan a custom trip of your own.

The evening before your river trip you’ll meet your crew at a predetermined location for a casual meet and greet. Crew will answer questions, provide dry bags and demonstrate how to use them. Your Trip Leader, the “TL,” will familiarize your group with the area, the gear, and the safety practices that ensure a great time on the river.
